Examples of transcendent partners: Teacher/ pupils, friends with one another, husband and wife, CEO and staff. In any of these cases, one person’s consciousness of another is the determining factor in whether a relationship goes anywhere beyond the base level of physical attraction. In every relationship, the ultimate goal is transcendence. To achieve this goal, one must consciously work toward a relationship in which each person’s awareness is heightened, mutual admiration and respect for one another develop, and a feeling of deep, fulfilling connectedness develops. When transcendent partners develop this awareness, the relationship becomes more than a physical bond. It grows into a spiritual bond that enables the people involved to live in harmony with one another – realizing their full potential for building a life of shared values and purpose.
