There are several governing bodies involved in various fields of sports. Among these are the Olympic committee, the governing bodies of various professional sports (including the NCAA, the Central National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Basketball Association), the National Football League, and the Professional Golfers’ Association. Another important institution involved in sport management is the NCAA. The NCAA provides guidelines for academic and athletic participation. Sports medicine also forms an integral part of the medical science involved in sport and health.
